How to Apply
 

A total of 43 PGCE places across 5 subjects  (English, Maths, Business Studies, Modern foreign Languages and Science), are available each year. Applicants will need to have a degree award of at least a 2:2 in a subject relevant to the one in which they wish to train. Applicants should apply through the centralised GTTR process in addition to submitting a KMT PGCE registration form available below.  Places are offered to successful candidates on a first come first served basis.  To avoid disappointment potential course members are advised to apply early.

Interviews take place from November to May. Although we will consider late applications in shortage subjects after this date, potential course members are advised to apply early to avoid disappointment.

GTP enquirers are asked to regsiter with KMT via the TDA centralised application process. Applicants need to have a degree award of at least 2:2 in a subject relevant to the one they wish to train in. We are especially keen to hear from those willing to train to teach Maths, Science, DT, ICT, English and PE.

The Process:
Register with the TDA
Select Kent & Medway Training as the Training Provider - check our requirements on the TDA site
TDA will alert us re your registration at midnight on the day you have made the application

Kent & Medway Training:
Acknowledgement will be made to you via email
Your details will be placed on our database and maybe circulated to our 19 consortium schools. If you are considered for a place on the GTP you will be contacted directly by the Headteacher or their representative of the school that is interested in pursuing your application.

Information:
Candidates may not hear from a school until the Spring or even Summer term
You can apply for a place on the SCITT course if your subject is available via the GTTR
The Single Application system is open from 1st September 2011


Please note the following points in relation to potential applications from non UK or Non EU citizens.
 
PGCE
KMT is not in a position to accept PGCE applications from non UK or non EU citizens ie. those who do not meet the residency requirements to receive public funding.
 
OTT
KMT no longer offers the Overseas Trained Teacher (OTT) route to Qualified Teacher Status.
 
GTP
KMT is not able to proceed with a registration for the Graduate Teacher Programme from those not currently holding residency status in the UK unless that registration is completed in conjunction with one of our consortium schools.
