Assessment
 

The criteria for successful completion of the course and the award of QTS are set out in the Graduate Teacher Handbook, together with detailed procedures for assessment.  Successful Graduate Teachers will have demonstrated:

  1. consistent achievement of the Standards for QTS (known as the Q standards) through a portfolio of evidence
  2. sound teaching ability observed and assessed by the GTP Training Manager, KMT subject specialists and other nominated assessors, Professional Tutor in the school and subject mentor in the school.
  3. Completion of a  Reflective Professional Journal demonstrating research and analytical application of theory into practice, as well as evidence of reflection and target setting
  4. at least pass grade in three written assignments

 
There is no final written examination.

Assessments are made by the Course Team, delegated staff and an External Examiner from Higher Education.
