Kent & Medway Training GTP Section

We believe that the most effective way to train you to teach your subject is to allow you to spend the maximum time possible in the classroom with an experienced practitioner as your Mentor.  You will undertake a second placement in a different school.  You will also be supported by a Senior Member of staff who oversees trainee teachers.

You will be able to observe a range of teachers teaching your subject as well as shadow pupils to gain a wider understanding of curriculum arrangements for years 7 to 11.

You will be trained to teach KS3 and 4 (11 to 16 year olds) unless your subject is only taught at KS4 and 5 (ie. for GCSE and post 16).
