| We are an 11 - 18 boys' (mixed sixth form) Specialist Sports College, high performing school and one of only 56 secondary schools nationally to be designated a Teaching School. Michael Gove, Secretary of State for Education, has expressed his excitement at the introduction of teaching schools and is quoted as saying, "I am delighted that we have the first hundred of the best schools in the country led by the best Heads becoming teaching schools from this September".

We are one of the best performing schools in its category and this year (2011), for the first time ever, over 80% of our Year 11 students achieved at least five A*-C grades in their GCSEs or equivalent. 52% achieved 5 or more A*-C grades, including maths and English which exceeded all expectations. |
