All applications are scrutinised by the Course Director and Lead Mentor (subject specialist) for the subject. If successful at this stage you will be invited to attend an interview with at least two of the Course Team' one of whom will be a subject specialist.
The interview will last about 2 hours and will include exploration of your subject knowledge* and experience and suitability for the course.
All interviewees are also required to complete a short reading and written English test as well as a written test of subject knowledge as it relates to the school curriculum*.
Part of the interview for MFL applicants will be in the target language.
Following the interview you may be required to spend at least a day in one of the consortium schools and write a report of your experiences before a decision is made about the offer of a place.
If you are successful you will receive a conditional offer subject to suitable references, verification of examination results, police and medical checks.
* Applicants could prepare for these aspects of the interview by reminding themselves of the content of the modules studied for the degree (and/or subsequent subject relevant work) and by referring to GCSE revision guides.
