Meopham School is an 11 - 18 co-educational foundation High School in an area of Kent selection. The school has a very mixed ability and social profile and goes to significant lengths to provide support and challenge for every kind of student and family.
 
In June 2009 Meopham had a very successful Ofsted inspection which graded us as Good overall with three Outstanding areas: Partnerships; Care,
Guidance and Support; Adopting Healthy Lifestyles.
 
Meopham School is a Specialist School and Sports college and is the hub school for the Gravesham School Sports Partnership (8 secondary schools, 28 primary schools, 2 special schools).
Becoming a specialist sports college has enabled us to bring into sharp focus our key aims:

We embed the sporting culture (specifically excellence, personal best, teamwork, participation and active learning) into the heart and soul of the school. Our policies and procedures are shot through with these key concepts and targets. As a Sports College, we have made faster progress in our first four years than all specialisms make on average in thirteen years!
 
Our ethos is strongly built on respect and responsibility, which not only means the ways in which we treat each other but also in our commitment to inclusion. We work extremely hard to tailor programmes to bring the disaffected or disengaged on board. Equally we have a strong system for rewards and sanctions, which provide support for staff and incentive for students. The introduction of our House System has been enthusiastically picked up by all students and they are increasingly participating in the running of their school for their benefit. Our current mission is to become an Outstanding school. A wide variety of staff training is in place which emphasises high-quality teaching and learning and we ensure enrichment and participation for every student.
