"Outstanding Local Teacher Training Provision Recognised"
We are delighted to announce that in our recent Ofsted inspection we achieved a Grade 1 assessment in recognition of our outstanding teacher training provision.
Kent and Medway Training is a well established School Centre Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) consortium of fifteen successful schools in the Kent and Medway area, offering graduates the opportunity to train to become secondary school teachers. The consortium is headed by the Leigh Technology Academy.
The Key strengths identified by the inspection team included:
- the very well structured and comprehensive training course
- very good management with highly effective communication
- the high degree of commitment and involvement from all partner schools, including at senior level.
- the very effective mentoring which meets trainees' needs very well
- the rigorous quality assurance of all aspects of training
- a commitment to the continuing improvement of provision
