Strood Academy
 
Strood Academy is a co-educational specialist Business and Enterprise Academy. It is an 11-19 school with a roll of 1400 students. The core values of UCA (the lead sponsor) and the Academy are creativity, collaboration, distinctiveness, respect and sustainability. Children are at the centre of all that the Academy does. We aim to develop well educated, considerate and caring citizens with a strong sense of values, who will achieve academic success and always aim high so as to seize the opportunities that life offers. We aim to be innovative and creative and improving teaching and learning is paramount to our CPD training and development programmes. We have a team of AST's and senior staff, as well as a  "coaching" team to support NQT's, trainee teachers, new staff and existing staff in developing and enhancing practice.
The Academy's new £30m new building will be opened in July 2012. This will be the first new secondary school building in Medway for many years and will provide us with outstanding facilities to deliver the curriculum. The Academy is part of the family of local schools and works alongside primary, secondary and special schools participating in the collaborative approach to delivering the 14-19 curriculum in partnership with college and work based education providers.
