Training Facilities

The central KMT office is located in 'The House' in the grounds of The Leigh Academy in Dartford. It contains the offices of the Finance Manager and Administation Officer. It is also the base for the Director of ITT, the Secondary Director for Dartford/Gravesham and the Primary Director. Within the Academy itself are a Lecture Theatre, teaching rooms and a reference library with access to the Leigh Academy library.

With the continued growth and success of KMT there are now 2 more geographical training Hubs which house the Secondary Director for the area, the local admin office, the local KMT reference library and the Professional Development training venues. The Secondary Hub training for Dartford/Gravesend is in the Leigh Academy or Dartford Grammar School, for the Medway/Maidstone Hub is in The Thomas Aveling School and for West Kent is in Mascalls Academy. The Primary Hub training is primarily within the Leigh Academy but also utilising the facilities of Primary Schools across all three geographical hubs.

KMT offers additional training sessions for those who are studying the Level 7 Top Up PGCE (Post Graduate Certificate in Education), currently in partnership with the University of Brighton.  These sessions take place mainly within two areas to minimise travel time for the Associate Trainee Teachers - The Leigh Academy (Dartford) and The Thomas Aveling School (Rochester). The University of Brighton gives PGCE (Post Graduate Certificate in Education) students access to their online Library to support them with their research.
