Wilmington Enterprise College
http://www.wec.kent.sch.uk/ Wilmington Enterprise College is an 11-18 wide ability, co-educational school maintained by the LEA. The number on roll is 800, including about 20 in the sixth form. There are no entry tests and at the end of Key Stage 2, pupils transfer from more than 30 feeder schools in the area. The school is set in extensive and well-maintained ground in the village of Wilmington on the outskirts of Dartford and Bexley. The curriculum offered to pupils in Year 7, 8 & 9 is in line with the legal requirements of the National Curriculum. In addtion the pupils receive lessons in Personal, Social and Health Education, Drama and Information Technology. In Years 10 & 11, pupils follow GCSE examination courses in English, Mathematics, Dual Award Science, Technology and a Modern Foreign Language. They are also able to choose another two subjects as well as Information Technology, all of which lead to national qualifications. The Curriculum offered to Years 12 & 13 is exclusively "A" Level. Six subjects are available currently and these include: Art, Biology, English Literature, Information Technology, Mathematics and Physical Education. We also have arrangements with other local schools to share "A" Level courses.
