Strood Academy has a fantastic opportunity to appoint a Teacher of Social Sciences from September 2025. We are seeking to appoint an inspiring teacher who will play a pivotal role in the progress and drive of this department. You’ll be joining the school at an exciting time as the rapid improvements we are making are gaining momentum. Whether you are at the very start of your teaching career or an experienced practitioner, we can offer tailored CPD and opportunities within the academy and across the wider Trust in due course to suit you.
Our ideal candidate will have the ability to teach Social and Cultural Anthropology (IB), Psychology (IB) and Health and Social Care (BTEC). Experience delivering Criminology (Eduqas) and Law (BTEC) would be desirable. Training can be delivered, where necessary, to upskill our successful candidate in the delivery of the IB programmes.

The Teacher of Social Sciences role is critical to the success of the Academy in developing into a centre of educational excellence. It is the responsibility of all teachers to contribute to creative and expansive schemes of work and deliver high-quality teaching and learning opportunities to students of all abilities, thereby improving student outcomes in all key stages in this vitally important subject area.
The successful candidate will receive;

This is a permanent, full-time position offering MPS/UPS based on experience.

Being part of Leigh Academies Trust: As of 1st September 2024, our Trust comprises 33 geographically organised academies (17 secondaries, 14 primaries and 2 special) educating more than 24,000 students and employing 4,000 talented staff.
