Finding a Route into Teaching History: Eesah’s KMT Story

Eesah shares how KMT helped them move from a Law degree into history teaching with supportive guidance, welcoming staff and tailored placements.

Did you face any barriers or challenges to applying for teacher training?

Yes – Initially, having studied Law at university, I found it challenging to identify history programmes that would allow someone with a Law degree to pursue teacher training in History.

What influenced your decision to apply to train with KMT?

I was very pleased with the structure of the teacher training course at KMT.

What support did KMT provide prior to your interview?

Before my interview, KMT provided me with materials that offered valuable insights on how to successfully navigate the teacher training interview process.

What support did KMT provide you following your interview?

After my interview, KMT continued to support me throughout the post-interview process, assisting me in securing a placement school and helping me find a school where I could train in History.

Compared to other providers, what made the experience with KMT different?

From the very beginning, everyone I spoke to at KMT was warm and welcoming. Even during my first interview, I immediately felt like I was already a part of the KMT community.
