Teaching is a rewarding profession, the role is challenging, stimulating but never dull.

We welcome trainees from a wide variety of backgrounds and experience – be it recent graduates from university or experienced professionals looking for a change.

At KMT we’ll support you on your journey. You’ll train to teach in one of our partner schools, spending as much time as possible in the classroom with an experienced practitioner as your mentor.

You’ll receive regular guidance and support to help you progress through the course while benefiting from our bespoke trainee platform and our comprehensive resource library.

Training to become a teacher

Train in a range of subjects


With KMT you can train to teach in Primary Schools or train to teach Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science, Modern Foreign Languages, English, History, Geography, RE, Business Studies, PE, Drama, Dance, Music, Psychology, Art, DT, Economics, Health and Social Care, Media and Sociology.

School led training across 3 routes


Whether you train through the KMT Core Non-Salaried programme or through one of KMT’s Partner Schools through the School Direct Salaried and Non-Salaried routes you will have an opportunity to gain Qualified Teacher Status and work towards a Level 7 PGCE qualification, delivered online and assessed by the Leeds Beckett University.
