Flexible, Inclusive and Supportive: Robin’s Journey into Teaching with KMT

For Robin, finding a teacher training provider that understood and supported their individual needs was essential. Did you face any barriers or challenges to applying for teacher training?

I faced challenges applying for teacher training due to chronic fatigue, so finding a flexible and understanding provider was important.

What influenced your decision to apply to train with KMT?

I have a friend who works with teacher training providers, and they recommended KMT as the most supportive provider. KMT offered a part-time course that I felt would fit with my needs.

What support did KMT provide prior to your interview?

I was able to have a video call with someone from KMT to answer some questions that I had about the course

What support did KMT provide you following your interview?

KMT were very good at keeping in touch. KMT were very good at supporting me with regards to my non-binary gender identity, and were supportive with liasing with the schools about how the students would refer to me – KMT suggested that I use “Teacher” instead of “miss or sir”, and this has been very smooth with the schools too.
