You’ll need a degree, GCSEs at grade 4 (C) or above in English and maths (and science for primary), and meet any subject-specific requirements.

Apply for teacher training

Applying for training is straightforward. You’ll need to provide some personal details, your course selection and proof of your eligibility to teach.

Begin your teacher training

Training with KMT involves classroom placements in at least 2 schools. Your training will also include some theoretical learning, which might be in a different location to your placements.

Training courses start in September and usually take 9 months as you work towards Qualified Teacher Status or QTS!

As an early career teacher (ECT), you’ll receive a package of support to help you find your feet. You’ll get a mentor to support you, boost your confidence and help you develop your teaching skills and build on your initial teacher training.
