Teaching Internship Programme

Shape the Future with
a Teaching Internship

KMT is proud to deliver the DfE Teaching Internship Programme in partnership with Leigh Academy Strood, representing a network of schools across Kent and Medway.

This programme is a key part of the national Get into Teaching service, designed to support prospective teachers at the very start of their journey. By joining us, you aren’t just gaining work experience, you are entering a supported pathway into the profession, gaining the insight and connections needed to transition smoothly into Initial Teacher Training.

Why Join the Teaching Internship?

Our programme provides a deep, practical, and highly supported introduction to the classroom. We focus on the areas that matter most: Professional Behaviours, Inclusion, and Behaviour Management – all through the lens of your specific subject.

  • Hands-on Experience: Spend significant time within one of our partnership schools.
  • Expert Mentorship: Work alongside qualified subject specialists and KMT as an accredited ITT provider.
  • Support to Apply: Our regional experts will support you to find a school and ITT programme to suit you.
