Job Summary: Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities?

 

Due to an internal promotion Cedar Children’s Academy are seeking a dedicated Class Teacher who also has experience as a SENCO, or has started training to become a SENCO, to join our supportive team. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping and delivering our SEND provision, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential.

About the Role

Working under the direction of the Headteacher you will:

  • Determine and lead the strategic development of our SEND policy and provision, ensuring that it meets the diverse needs of our students.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and staff to ensure the best possible outcomes for students with SEND.
  • Take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the SEND policy, coordinating tailored support for individual students with special educational needs or disabilities.
  • Provide professional guidance to colleagues, and work closely with staff, parents/carers, and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to SEND support.
  • Ensure that we are fully compliant with the SEND Code of Practice and deliver the highest standards of SEND provision.
  • Act as the Designated Teacher for Children in Care (CiC) and previous Children in Care, ensuring their educational needs are met and their progress is tracked.
