Leigh Academy Cherry Orchard has a truly fantastic opportunity to appoint a Class Teacher who will work within Key Stage 2 from January 2026. This is a great chance an IB World School and work with a collaborative and innovative team!
Our successful candidate will be a part of our academy which opened in September 2017. Our teaching staff at Leigh Academy Cherry Orchard provide outstanding educational opportunities for all of our pupils, and our appointed candidate will contribute to this and support our journey. We are looking for a fantastic practitioner who is a creative and imaginative teacher with the ability to plan highly effective learning opportunities that meet the needs of all children in our care.
Excellent classroom management skills and high expectations of all pupils are essential as well as a comprehensive knowledge of the curriculum and new assessment framework.
This is a full-time, permanent position offering MPS, based on experience + London Fringe Allowance.

Leigh Academy Cherry Orchard opened in September 2017, it has since grown to full capacity with children up to Year 6 as of September 2021. The academy is located in Ebbsfleet Garden City and features new facilities, including a nursery and a center for children with speech, communication, and language needs.
The academy’s core mission is to inspire children, deliver an inclusive education, create a safe and happy environment, and ensure all students feel valued. It focuses on challenging learning experiences to build resilient students and maintains a consistent approach to behavior, safeguarding, and pastoral support.
Leigh Academy Cherry Orchard received an ‘Outstanding’ rating from Ofsted in its November 2021 inspection, achieving the highest mark in all five areas: Quality of Education, Behaviour and Attitudes, Personal Development, Leadership and Management, and Early Years Provision.
