Become a Lead Practitioner – English at Leigh Academy Hugh Christie and lead the charge in advancing standards and enriching teaching and learning across our academy. As a pivotal member of our leadership team, you’ll play a key role in translating our academy’s vision into outstanding classroom practices, cultivating a culture of excellence throughout.

Your primary responsibilities will revolve around devising and implementing strategies for teaching and learning, curriculum design, professional development, and fostering collaborative teamwork. With a focus on English, you’ll spearhead initiatives to enhance teaching and learning within the subject, developing tailored systems and procedures to elevate outcomes.

In addition to delivering exemplary lessons, mentoring colleagues, and leveraging data analysis to drive continuous improvement, you’ll champion positive student engagement by establishing high expectations and creating an inspiring learning environment. Our ideal candidate will possess:

A degree in English or a related field
Qualified Teacher Status
Demonstrated success as a classroom practitioner in co-educational comprehensive schools
Evidence of dedication to extracurricular and enrichment activities
Thorough understanding of the national curriculum in English
Proven track record of implementing successful strategies to improve achievement and share best practices
Ability to facilitate students in working to the highest standards
Strong administrative abilities
Successful experience in collaborative teamwork
Demonstrated leadership skills and experience
Consistent punctuality

The basis of this role is full-time, permanent and offers a salary of leadership scale based on experience. Interviews for the shortlisted candidates will take place week commencing 13th May.
