Job Summary: As a Business Administration Apprentice, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the school reception.

The Lenham School is a secondary school based in Lenham, committed to providing a supportive and inclusive environment for its students. As part of our dedication to excellence, we are seeking a Level 3 Business Administration Apprentice to join our team, supporting both our reception and Special Educational Needs (SEN) administration departments.

Job Summary:

As a Business Administration Apprentice, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our school’s reception area while also providing crucial administrative support to our SEN department. This multifaceted role requires a friendly and professional demeanour, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to adapt to the dynamic environment of a secondary school setting.

Main Duties:

  • Act as the first point of contact for all visitors to the school, ensuring a welcoming and professional experience.
  • Operate entry intercom and oversee school signing-in procedures for visitors and students.
  • Manage switchboard, take messages, and handle routine inquiries efficiently.
  • Assist with sorting and distributing incoming post, maintaining accurate records as necessary.
  • Utilise Outlook to schedule meetings for staff and visitors, and manage the school office email account.
  • Support the SEN department with administrative tasks including Annual Review and Records of Outcomes processes, as well as data management.
  • Attend and actively participate in relevant meetings as required.

Perform additional duties as directed by the Office Manager or Headteacher.

Support for the Trust:

Adhere to policies and procedures related to child protection, health and safety, security, and confidentiality.
Contribute to the overall ethos, work, and mission statement of the Trust. Participate in the school’s appraisal process and engage in training and development activities as required.

Job Title: Level 3 Business Administration Apprentice – Reception and SEN Administration

Working hours: 8am-4pm Monday-Thursday 8am-3:30am Friday.

Duration: 17 months

Type: Full-time, Apprenticeship (Term time only)

Salary: £10,302 pro rata (£12,347 FTE)

Education Requirement: English and Maths GCSE at Grade C/4 or Level 2 Functional Skills equivalent.

Job Type: Apprenticeship

Pay: £10,302.00 per year

Expected hours: 37 per week
