Job Summary: We are looking for a Lead Practitioner - MFL for September 2024

We know that exceptional MFL practitioners are in high demand which is why we are offering a recruitment and retention bonus of £2,000 for the right candidate (£1,000 payable upon joining, and £1,000 payable after 1 year’s service).
We are looking for a Lead Practitioner – MFL for September 2024, and warmly welcome applications from experienced teachers who are passionate about MFL and are dedicated to enabling students to make excellent progress.

As the Lead Practitioner for MFL, you will work in a small team of teachers supporting the Director of Learning for MFL. The department continues to successfully train and develop Early Career Teachers (ECTs) as a means of investing in the future of the department. This is a fantastic role where you will have a direct impact on the quality of education and outcomes for the MFL department. We are looking to raise the profile of MFL in the school and thereby increase the percentage of students taking an additional language – you will be a key player in driving this forward.

In addition to both French and Spanish GCSE courses at KS4, the department teaches these languages through the IB’s Middle Years Programme (MYP) at KS3. Should the profile of MFL increase where there is a demand for A Levels, the academy is willing to consider offering these. This allows for opportunities to work with a range of levels and abilities to improve the quality of education and outcomes in MFL.

Achievement for all students regardless of background is our key objective. We offer stimulating learning environments where effective teaching and learning are underpinned by high-quality interpersonal relationships. If you are ambitious for yourself and the learners you serve, then you are the person we need.

This is a permanent opportunity and offers a salary of Leadership Scale (L4-8), commensurate with experience. If you would like to arrange to discuss the role with a member of the team, please contact Amy Wenban (Recruitment Team) on amy.wenban@latrust.org.uk.
