Job Summary: The Halley Academy is now recruiting for a Teacher of PE to join us from September 2024.

This is a truly fantastic opportunity for a passionate Teacher of PE to become part of an established, collaborative and successful PE team to ensure that students enjoy a challenging, dynamic and rewarding curriculum. We have a proud and genuine commitment to giving all students the opportunity to explore and excel in a diverse range of sporting activities, so that we support them in leading healthy and active lifestyles during adulthood. All students enjoy core PE in Years 7-11. Sport BTEC is both popular and one of our top performing subjects at both Key Stage 4 and 5. Many of our Year 13 students have historically progressed onto sports related post-18 university or apprenticeship courses. In addition to this, the PE department offers a wide range of extracurricular activities everyday of the week, both before and after school. Our Academy Sports Day is always one of the highlights of the year, and we enjoy competing in sporting competitions both across Greenwich borough and Leigh Academies Trust. We have a state-of-the-art sports centre and extensive outdoor grounds that are well utilised and respected.

Promote good progress and outcomes by students. 
Demonstrate good subject and curriculum knowledge.
Plan and teach well-structured lessons.
Adapt teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of all students. 
Make accurate and productive use of assessment. 
Manage behaviour effectively to ensure a good and safe learning environment.

 

This is an opportunity that offers a competitive MPS + Inner London salary, commensurate with experience. This position would also be suitable for NQTs, who were keen to commence and progress their teaching career with us.
