Job Summary: KS1 or KS2 class teacher wanted for our small village school

We are looking to appoint a full-time class teacher from September 2026 for one of our Key Stage 1 or 2 classes.  We have mixed year group classes and we are happy to consider applications from candidates with either KS1 or KS2 experiences.

Downe Primary School is a small, family school and we are a fantastic school to start your teaching career, or to further develop it and move into middle leadership roles within the school or wider academy trust.  We have a proven track record of supporting ECTs within their induction years and beyond, with incredible training options. We welcome applications from ECTs, as well as from experienced teachers. For ECTS, we offer strong support – an experienced mentor whom you will meet weekly during dedicated release time; an excellent training programme using materials from the ECF; regular observations of experienced colleagues, including visits to other schools.  For experienced teachers, we offer subject specific training, access to NPQs and professional coaching to support wellbeing and workload.

Please note that, although this is a role listed to start in the new academic year, our INSET days are on 27th and 28th August and the successful candidate will be required to attend.

Downe Primary School is a small village school with a warm, family feel. We place great emphasis on positive and secure relationships built upon trust, respect and clear communication. This extends to every member of the school community, providing a supportive learning environment where everyone is valued and included, championed and challenged. Children develop the personal skills required for a happy and fulfilled life alongside the knowledge and skills required for the next stage of their education.
